Theparalysis of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz has triggered a crude oil storage crisis. Kuwait has been forced to cut production at some oil fields due to the exhaustion of storage capacity, becoming the first oil-producing country in this round of conflicts to reduce output due to ‘tank-top’ pressure. Iraq has already halved its production capacity, while Saudi Arabia’s storage tanks are expected to reach their limits within three weeks. Concerns over supply disruptions have intensified, with WTI crude oil expanding gains to 8%.
